Join Two-Fifty Market for their St. Patrick’s themed Floral Design class! This fresh floral arrangement will be festive and fun featuring bells of Ireland and green hydrangea. Great Bay Sailor will be singing the songs and playing the tunes found in the great treasure trove of traditional and contemporary Irish music. Their Celtic performance features traditional and contemporary dance tunes, marches and slow airs, pub songs, songs of the rebellion, maritime songs, and ballads. In a season when Irish heritage is celebrated, Dr. Lucy Salyer, Associate Professor of History at UNH with special interest in American immigration, presents an illustrated talk at Strawbery Banke on March 20th, exploring her new book, Under the Starry Flag: How a Band of Irish Americans Joined the Fenian Revolt and Sparked a Crisis over Citizenship. The free program takes place at 5:30 pm in the museum’s TYCO Visitors Center lecture hall (14 Hancock Street) and is open to the public. Light refreshments served.
