The Children’s Museum of NH’s first ever Grown-up’s (21+) night at the Museum of NH! Join us for some  BOO!zy fun with friends from 7th Settlement Brewery. We’ll share some spooky science experiments, creepy crafts, and drinks so delicious – it’s scary! Be sure to wear your costume! Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Cash bar. Join the Children’s Museum of NH for a Halloween event that focuses on fun – not fright! Celebrating throughout the day with all kinds of special activities. Kids and adults are encouraged to come in costume to explore our exhibits like our Cave Explorers Bat Cave, Dino Detective and Green Screen Adventures in Travel. Meet the museum’s very own Wacky Scientist and check out his fantastical experiments, visit the Fairy Circle to fairy doors and friendly spiders, create take-home crafts, get your face painted in the Muse Studio, and more! Participate in our costume contest, and try out our trick-or-treat scavenger hunt to receive an extra special prize at the end of your visit! The Moffatt-Ladd House and Garden will host the first ever “Harvesting History” fall festival on its grounds on October 21 from 11am to 3pm.  This free festival celebrates the fall season with fun family activities such as pumpkin decorating, food trucks, garden talks with topics including tree care, herbs and their uses, essential oils and plant propagation.  Tour the museum and visit with demonstrators talking about life in a historic house, furniture restoration, hearth cooking, costuming, and more.  Bring the family and join for this fall celebration!


The Prescott Park Arts Festival and Seacoast Community School are delighted to present the 5th Annual Memorial Bridge 5K Road Race again this October! The crossing of the Memorial Bridge has always been a symbolic way for the community to celebrate the beloved city icon. Post-race, the day’s festivities continue with a Kid’s Fun Run around Prescott Park, and the infamous WHEB Chili Cook-Off, featuring Redhook beer, live music courtesy of WHEB, and of course, all the chili you can eat! All runners will receive FREE entry into the 28th Annual WHEB Chili Cook-Off located across the street at the historic Strawbery Banke!

Cited by New Hampshire Magazine as an ‘editor’s choice,’ the New Hampshire Fall Festival at Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth offers families a day to discover the past. On October 7, 10 am to 5 pm, the museum supplements its 32 historic buildings, 8 heirloom gardens, traditional crafts and costumed role-players with a harvest village including farm animal demonstrations and 20 costumed crafts demonstrators. The additional demonstrations and activities are included in the regular price of admission: Adults $19.50; Children 5-17 $9; family (2 adults/2 kids) $48. Come and meet the Ghosts on the Banke at Strawbery Banke’s famous Halloween celebration. Long-dead sea captains, 17th century shopkeepers and wayward pirates haunt the streets of Portsmouth’s oldest neighborhood as you trick or treat safely from house to historic house. Tickets available at the door. $8 per person (adult or child over 1 year old; children 1 or under, free). Half-price admission for members. Trick-or-Treat Safely Jack-O-Lanterns light the way to step over the threshold of time and meet the “Ghosts on the Banke.” Discover pirate treasure, visit with the wacky witch, look into the future with guidance from the gypsy fortune teller. Catch a Ghostly Tale Community members bring history back to life with spooky plays, skits, and interactive improvisation throughout the evening.

Night Terrors Haunted Woods Walk is back at Take Flight this Halloween! Join Night Terrors for the spookiest walk through the woods on the seacoast.
